BIOGRAPHY OF AGNES EROCK TONG
Agnes Erock Tong, aka “Spainy”, “Aggie” as she was fondly called by her siblings and loved ones, was born on May 3rd 1974 to William Mbe Tong and Mariana Tarh Tong in Tiko.
Academic Achievements
‘Aggie” studied in Catholic School Bota, Saker Baptist College and Baptist Academy. After her ‘A’ levels she obtained her Licence (Bachelor’s Degree) in Modern Letters at the University of Yaounde I. She later furthered her studies at the British College in Buea. Always at the quest of knowledge she took a number of professional management and women empowerment courses to hone her skills as an entrepreneur and continuously develop herself as a person.
Professional Life
Agnes was a very hardworking industrious and skillful lady. In the last decade of her life lived in Abidjan-Ivory Coast. Aside from being an English lecturer at two reputable institutions of higher Education (KIBIO- IRSPE and ESTAM), she was a business woman and never one to sit idle she was an active member of her church “Temple de la Foi - Wafo Ministries” where she served as a translator and an evangelist who was being trained at…… bible school.
She was well loved and considered as an inspiration and a fighter by those who constituted of her Abidjan family from her friends, colleagues, students and church members alike.
Our God fearing, entrepreneurial, fun-loving Agnes, was a mother, sister, Aunt and grand-Aunt. After fighting a good fight, she has gone to be with the Lord leaving behind a beautiful daughter, 7 sisters, 2 brothers over 33 nieces/nephews and 9 grandnephews/nieces.
We celebrate the life of a great person who lived life to the fullest in fear of the Lord evangelizing till her last breath.
